Mission Statement

The goal of S.T.O.P. is to educate our youth about violence and to prevent violent actions and reactions to everyday circumstances and situations they may find themselves in.  S.T.O.P. will also work to prevent youth from making bad decisions which can result in criminality and the perpetration of violence and violent activity in the communities in which our youth live. The first step for S.T.O.P. is to prevent teens from turning to violence by changing their mindset about violence and securing in their mind the sanctity of life. During the preteen and teen years, young people are learning the necessary skills to form positive, healthy relationships with others. It is during these years that they need to acquire the necessary life skills to promote healthy relationships and learn how to cope with their emotions in such a way that they seek resolutions that include strong interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving skills.
