Changing The Mindset Of Teens

Part of our mission at S.T.O.P. is to work towards the elimination and prevention of abuse in our community. The S.T.O.P. Program works directly with adolescents to implement violence prevention, Anger Management, Drug/Alcohol abuse, Sexual abuse, Anti-bullying and Suicide prevention.

Activities include educating and training teens about abusive situations, awareness and warning signs. We use a variety of curriculum-based programs, presentations, and peer education activities to teach teens how to prevent violence and abuse.

S.T.O.P. collaborates with a number of community partners to provide our programming with youth in a variety of settings.

Some of our partners include:

  • Newton County Public Schools
  • Newton County Department of Family Services
  • Newton County Mental Health, Substance Abuse, & Developmental Services
  • Newton County Parks, Recreation, and Community Services
  • Local private schools and community groups.
  • Newton County Law Enforcement.
